This healthcare-focused study reveals important insights into how healthcare donors view AI in charitable organizations. While 69.6% of healthcare donors believe AI can improve charitable effectiveness, implementation must carefully address concerns about privacy, human interaction, and ethical implications. The study found that 57.6% of healthcare donors are familiar with AI, and its implementation could positively influence 21.5% of donors to increase their giving.

Methodology

This follow-up study surveyed 510 healthcare donors who had made charitable donations in the past 12 months. The study was conducted in October 2024, examining attitudes and behaviors specifically towards AI in healthcare organizations. The research builds on a prior study of 1,006 donors across various nonprofit sectors, providing valuable context for understanding the unique aspects of AI perceptions in healthcare philanthropy.
